Band Practice

I agree with people who say that music is medicine.  Music is the glue that holds my family together.  My dad is a musician.  All 3 of my sister's play an instrument or are in a band. Volume was never really an issues in our home especially if Mom and Dad liked it. (Eminem ) 

Every Sunday for a few hours my friend Mike comes over and I am taken to a happy place. We roll a joint, I sing and he strums along beautifully on his guitar and it is magical. Sometimes writing music can be frustrating. My process for putting lyrics to Mike's vocals takes time. I usually record the riffs he gives me and play them throughout the week and whistle different melodies over the tune until I find one that fits. The last thing I do is write the lyrics. Every time I create something with Mike around my kitchen table I am instantly energized.  Singing keeps me happy. It is truly my outlet. 

Introduction

My name is Jenni. I am a late-twenty-something trade school student from Colorado living in Sarasota Florida. I love to laugh, sing and dance as often as possible. I also love to read, cook and throw fabulous parties! 

I am married to Mr.Fantastic aka Chad. Our home is nicknamed "The Colorado Embassy" ... We share a place with our friend, Louie and the three of us made the decision to move to Florida in 2011. We also live with my sister, Carol, she moved to Sarasota from Colorado exactly one year after we did. Our main group of friends (Kane, Deb, Ang and Tom) are also from Colorado. It's strange how it's worked out but I am not complaining! We are having more fun more fun than I could have ever imagined. 

I am a Colorado girl living in the deep, wet, south and it is entertaining. What you see here will be my stories, my recipes, my projects, my photos. Little pieces of my life, past and present. Enjoy!
